How it all began
Our Story
A few little questions that tell the bigger story of how we met, how we grew, and what we love about building a life together.
Where did you meet?
We met during our first month of college at UMass Amherst at a Garba event hosted by the South Asian Student Association in 2016. We became friends the following semester before calling it official a short time later.
What are you most excited about for your future together?
Over the past nine years, we have grown so much together - from graduating college to navigating grad school and now planning our wedding. We have been by each other's side through every high and low, and we cannot wait to continue building our future and creating a lifetime of memories.
What is your favorite activity to do together?
Our love language is truly food. We love exploring new restaurants in every city we visit. Otherwise, an afternoon spent reading at a local coffee shop or cafe is a perfect day for us. We are excited to keep traveling and discovering the world's unique cultures together.
What are your favorite types of food?
Besides authentic Nepali and Indian food, we love Italian, Thai, and Mexican cuisine.
What countries have you travelled to together?
Our recent travels have been a beautiful mix of exploration and connection. In Japan, we experienced the contrast of Tokyo's energy, Osaka's lively food scene, and Uji's peaceful charm. In 2024 and 2025, we also traveled back home to India and Nepal to meet each other's extended families and explore cities that hold deep meaning for us. Simran met Parth's family in Pune and Indore, and we took a vibrant getaway to Goa. Parth met Simran's family in Kathmandu, Nepal, where we explored historic streets and traditions. After many years together, it meant so much to truly understand each other through our roots.
What is your next dream destination?
The Amalfi Coast.
